Overdraft Options

In the event that you do not have enough money in your account, Overdraft Protection will transfer available funds from one of your eligible UMe accounts to pay the transaction.

Savings Account
Money Market Account
Home Equity Line-of-Credit (subject to applicable finance charges)
Visa Platinum Credit Card (subject to applicable finance charges)

If a Line-of-Credit or Visa Credit Card is used to cover the transaction, interest will accrue on the outstanding balance until the loan is paid in full.

You must maintain a balance or credit limit that will cover any overdrafts from your checking account, otherwise a standard $30 non-sufficient funds fee will apply per transaction.

Contact the credit union at (818) 238-2900 to set up Overdraft Protection for your checking account.

Safety Net

We know you manage your finances responsibly, but when you need it, Safety Net is there for you. When we receive an item for payment that causes the balance in your account to go below zero, we will pay the debit or check (up to your limit) including the overdraft fee. Your checking account will be worry-free knowing that Safety Net will cover you.

We will continue to authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions: Checks, Automatic Bill Payments and ACH Debits. However, in order to have your debit card and ATM transactions covered, federal regulations require you to Opt-In for that coverage. Therefore, you must fill out a Safety Net Opt-In form, and submit it to the credit union in order to have your debit card and ATM transaction overdrafts covered.

$25 per transaction

To receive Safety Net coverage for Visa debit card and ATM transactions, download the Opt-in form, complete it, and return the form to the credit union.

Safety Net coverage of checks, automatic bill payments and ACH debits are automatically activated as needed. Opt-in is not necessary.
