What Our Students Say:
F.A.Q.s
Which license do I need?
What are the requirements to get a license?
- 18 years of age
- A person of “good moral character”, which essentially means you have to pass a background check.
- A completion certificate of a pre-license course from an approved entity (Hey, how ya doing? Approved Entity, here.)
Online vs. Live: Pros and Cons
I think this one mostly comes down to study styles and personality type. If you’re a driven, focused person, who pretty well self-motivates and enjoys time alone for long periods of time, the online course is perfect for you. If you said no to more than two of the above-mentioned traits, then online is probably not for you.
What are the costs?
Do I have to take your class?
You don’t have to take our class, specifically. You should, because we are wonderful and humble. But you do have to take a course from an approved entity before you can even schedule the state exam.
What is the process for getting a license?
Take an approved course (ours, ours is super approved), pass our exam, pass the state exam, pass the background check, pay for license.
How much does the average licensee make?
Since agents are independent contractors, they have incomes ranging from 0 figures to 8 figures.. Any average from that is not going to be very helpful. A decent producer, selling an average annual sales volume of $3,000,000 would make around $70,000 a year.

My mother had always told me that I should get my real estate license. She’s been a Realtor with a large home builder for a long time and my grandmother was a Realtor too, so she just knew it was “in my blood.” I finally conceded to venture out of the non-profit world thy my entire career had been in, just to test the waters… but mostly to appease my mother. I took the pre-license course that was led by Steve Oliver, and I was immediately hooked.

His classes were fun and interesting! The guest teachers that he brought in shared their real life experiences and I just couldn’t get enough. Immediately upon getting my license, I went straight through and knocked out my post-license too. Before I knew it, I was making more money than I would have ever dreamed of making and was finally my own boss. I’m a busy mom of two boys and my husband encouraged me to quit my full time job and go into real estate full time instead. I now have a team of four, full-time agents and I’m consistently referred to as a “top producer” by my Brokerage. I have no doubt that none of this would have been possible without the guidance and support of the Oklahoma Real Estate Academy. The Oliver Family and their staff are without a doubt the absolute best real estate advocates and educators in this industry. They not only teach their students how to pass the tests required, but they teach them how to make careers and how to do it all ethically. My family and I will be forever grateful to the academy and to the Oliver’s

A native of Dallas, Texas, I received my Bachelor’s in Business Administration from John Brown University. I now reside in Tulsa, Oklahoma with my wife of 13 years and our two amazing daughters, ages 7 and 10.
I entered the Real Estate game and joined Coldwell Banker Select in 2016. Since starting my time in real estate, I’ve accumulated $20M+ in sales, hundreds of new friends, and roughly 7 mortal enemies.

My Real Estate story ALL started with Oklahoma Real Estate Academy. I am so thankful to Steve Oliver and his team of experienced instructors. Not only did I feel prepared to take the Oklahoma Real Estate License exam, I felt prepared to start a career. Going through a class and navigating a new career are very different experiences. Fortunately, the Oklahoma Real Estate Academy filled me with the confidence and excitement to succeed at both!

I was very fortunate to be a Stay-At-Home-Mom for 8 years before getting into Real Estate. Once my kids were all in school, I knew I wanted a job that I could be flexible in, but also excel in without limitation. My father has been a Realtor my whole life and has encouraged me to get my license for years. Being the rebel that I am, I resisted my dad’s advice until I realized it fit all the criteria of what I was looking for in a career.

Selling a House in a Historic Market
What it’s like to sell a house in a historic real estate market… In my last article, I discussed what it’s like to buy a house in this crazy market. I likened the market more to a prison yard riot and used a prisoner getting shanked by another prisoner to draw...
