******* UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW *******I contacted Microsoft regarding the warranty on the product and there were happy to replace it. Overall it was a pretty painless process and I'm adding one star as a result. Additionally in my original review I stated that the product was less than one year old. However I had actually been using it for about 18 months when it broke. I do like the headset and having the manufacturer replace it under warranty with no pushback at all (they definitely seemed aware of the problem) will keep me purchasing their hardware in the future.I purchased the LifeChat LX-6000 based upon a Wirecutter review and overall felt it was a good value. However after less than one year of average use the frame has broken in two places in a way that is not easily repaired. Specifically the plastic rails on which the ear pieces are mounted and slide into the headband have cracked completely in half. The fracture is about 1.5" from where the band reduces in size and is apparently from the stress of pulling the earpieces apart when putting it on my head (and really, my head is not that big). The Microsoft site claims this product has a two-year limited warranty which I will attempt to use for a replacemen and will post an update on the results of that effort.Additionally this headset has a in-line control unit on the cable that includes mute and on/off hook buttons. Unfortunately the on/off hook button is positioned in a way that it is easy to depress and I have ended calls prematurely on many occasions. My advice for the future design of this product would be to recess that button slightly so it's not as easy to accidentally activate.
